| Calgary Castle is
a spacious, historic building, dating from about 1775, offering modern, comfortable, warm
accommodation. Set at the head of a beautiful bay overlooking a stunning sandy beach it is
surrounded by approximately 4 acres of grounds, which include a walled garden. The Castle is 12 miles from the island capital of Tobermory where there are good shopping and restaurant facilities. Mull is the ideal staging post for a trip to Iona, with its wonderful Abbey, created by St Columbus in 563 ad and the burial place of many Scottish Kings. The island of Staffa is only short boat trip from Iona with Fingal's Cave, the inspiration for Mendelssohn's music. |
